Giving Back Both Inside and Outside the Community

Asbury~Solomons Island is a model of the idea that people in action can make a difference. A strong sense of volunteerism is one of the reasons Asbury~Solomons Island has such a strong sense of community. A key component of our guiding HealthAbility™ wellness model is vocational wellness. Our residents take advantage of a wide variety of volunteer opportunities within miles of their homes. Calvert Marine Museum, the University of Maryland Chesapeake Biological Lab and Annmarie Garden are just a few of the places that benefit from the Asbury~Solomons Island resident volunteers.

Volunteering Opportunities Inside the Community

Sharing your time and talents with your neighbors at Asbury~Solomons Island is one of the most satisfying ways to contribute to your community. Everywhere you look, there is someone doing something to help their friend or neighbor. Opportunities to make a positive contribution to the lifestyle here abound—from delivering mail or beverages to residents of the Health Care Center to creating items for the arts and crafts boutique sale that benefits the Benevolent Care Fund.
