| Operations Support and Clinical
Systems Asbury Communities works to support the operating
needs of each community by offering assistance and
guidance in day-to-day operational areas such as management,
budgeting, compliance and clinical systems. Our Operations Support
department works with each unique community to identify new revenue
possibilities, promote new program development and assist with
contract negotiations in areas such as pharmacy, rehabilitation and
managed care.
Operations Support acts as a liaison to tie together many aspects
of system leadership within the corporation. We work to ensure
compliance of budget and occupancy goals, assure that long-range
tactical strategies of Asbury Communities and its communities are met,
and monitor performance measures throughout the system.
Some other examples of services offered:
- Financial and capital budgeting
- Monitoring achievement progress in pursuit of Malcolm Baldrige
National Quality Award at each community
- Development of performance measures that enhance the quality
of resident life and business results
- Innovative program development to ensure continued leadership
within the senior living industry
- Compliance with Board governance and communication with system
leadership
- Research and testing of new programs to improve resident
satisfaction and increase associate efficiency.
Within Operations Support, Clinical Systems identify new
developments in care management and/or innovates care systems which
best fulfill the Asbury Communities mission.
Clinical Systems interacts with each community to ensure
compliance with state and federal regulations within our skilled
nursing centers and assisted living facilities. We also assist
facility personnel to define and/or refine systems and programs that
enhance their residents’ quality of life.
Clinical Systems responsibilities include:
- Regulatory oversight and education
- Consulting and resource availability for community associates
on clinical issues
- Analyze and benchmark quality measures
- Facilitate identification of best practices in program
development and implementation
- Evaluate new product line services
- Evaluate new acquisitions
- Provide mock surveys to health facilities within the system
for continuous quality improvement purposes

Doug Leidig, Chief Operating Officer
A licensed nursing home administrator in
Maryland and Pennsylvania, Mr. Leidig’s role as Chief Operating
Officer continues more than 18 years of extensive experience in
helping seniors lead fulfilling lives. His role includes operations
oversight of nine communities, assistance with governance, system contracting and
integration, budget development and management of capital
improvements and expenditures. He is also responsible for
monitoring achievement progress in pursuit of performance excellence
standards, community support and new community operational
assessments. During Mr. Leidig’s career, he has overseen the
operations of several senior living communities, facilitated the
design and construction of a campus medical center and implemented
numerous advancements in care for residents within those
communities. Mr. Leidig holds a Bachelor’s degree in Long Term Care
Administration from York College in Pennsylvania, and a Masters of
Business Administration from Mount St. Mary’s University in
Emmitsburg, Md. |

Sue DaCamara, Senior Vice President of
Operations
With more than 30 years of experience in retirement housing and
long-term care, Sue DaCamara leads the operations of all six
communities within the Asbury system. She joined Asbury Methodist
Village more than 25 years ago as the Director of Therapeutic
Recreation, and subsequently served as the Assistant Administrator
and Administrator of Asbury Home, Administrator for Apartments and
Villas, and Administrator of Health Related Services. While at
Asbury Methodist Village, she was involved in the program planning
and operational start-up of several expansion projects at the
community. Ms. DaCamara became the Executive Director of
Asbury~Solomons Island in 1995, was instrumental in its 1996
opening, and led its 2002 expansion. She also assisted in the 2003
opening of Inverness Village in Tulsa, Oklahoma, served as Interim
Executive Director of Asbury Methodist Village in 2004-05, and
supported the operations of The Asbury Group’s management contract
with several Asbury Place communities in Eastern Tennessee. Prior to
joining Asbury, she served as Director of Resident Services,
Director of Therapeutic Recreation and as a Therapeutic Recreation
Consultant at several retirement communities and skilled nursing
facilities in Pennsylvania and Virginia. Ms. DaCamara has a
Bachelor’s degree in Health and Human Services, with an emphasis in
Therapeutic Recreation for Geriatrics, from the Pennsylvania State
University. She has completed some graduate work in Public Health
Administration, as well as specialized courses in retirement
housing. Ms. DaCamara is a licensed nursing home administrator in
Maryland, as well as a certified preceptor for Administrators in
Training. |
